On the American television series, 'The King Of Queens' an episode occurs where Carey and Doug throw a Thanksgiving party for their friends one evening. A mysterious ruffian-like stranger appears on the doorstep claiming to have broken down on the snowing night. He asks if he can wait out of the cold while he calls his out-of-state friend to come and pick him up from his marooned predicament. He is hulking and has an eye patch and one piercing blue eye. Holly who is invited immediately falls in love with this Odin-like lover of hers that she is irresistibly matched to. Holly is a magical plant and she plays an Eridian role in the series as a Fata Morgana who is promiscuous ('La Puta - The Whore') and a  drunkard. Yet, like the Greek goddess of Primordial Chaos Eris Discordia, she always lands on her feet though she is treated badly by others and often snubbed. The eye-patched Odin is kept out on he stoop in the cold as Carey fears the stranger will kill and rob them. He is certainly an imposing character. Most of the episode is taken up with discussion over whether the stranger should be welcomed to the Thanksgiving meal. Eventually they join the Odin character on the stoop and toast him in reconciliation. The Odin stranger claims to see his out-of-state friend pulling up down the street and asks Doug if he can use the toilet. While inside, he locks the front door and robs the family.
The is archtypical of Odin. He has one piercing blue eye - the other was plucked out in exchange for magical knowledge as a sacrifice. Odin comes in winter during the snow on his Wild Hunt to kill and steal. He is a renown thief. He would rather steal than acquire goods legally. The episode ends with Holly pledging her undying love to the Odin stranger during visiting hours in prison where he is serving time for theft.
